Horizontal Rule

One or more dash (-) characters on a line will create a horizontal rule as follows:

Becomes:


Block Quote

A leading single quote (') character tags a line as a block quote as follows:
'This is a block quote. It is indented etc....

Becomes:

This is a block quote. It is indented somewhat to set it apart from other text on the page. This text is repeated to make a paragraph. This is a block quote. It is indented somewhat to set it apart from other text on the page. This text is repeated to make a paragraph. This is a block quote. It is indented somewhat to set it apart from other text on the page.

Pull Quote

Two leading single quote (') characters tag a line as a pull quote as follows:
''This is a pull quote. It is set off etc....

Becomes:


This is a pull quote. It is set off from the main text by horizontal rules.

Preformatted Text

A leading equal sign (=) tags a line as preformatted as follows:
=  This is a line of preformatted text.

Becomes:

  This is a line of preformatted text.

Centered Text

A leading dollar sign ($) tag will center a line as follows:
$This is a line of centered text.

Becomes:

This is a line of centered text.

Netscape Only

Centered Headings

You can also center section headings, page headings, and logo graphics by using the dollar sign ($) tag:
#$Centered Headings

%HEADING $Centered Heading
%LOGO $mtxlogo
